INCESSANT

An exhibition about the materiality of injustice, inequality and conflict

Weapons, frets, furniture and accessories are witnesses to numerous situations of conflict, injustice and inequality in Latin American countries. Incessant tells the stories of four objects from Colombia and Brazil, each a witness to the problems faced by the communities that make, use and transform them. These objects show the complaint about several problematics that affect Latin American peoples, such us mining projects that impacts the environment and traditional trades; the exploitation and non-recognition for the cultural and land heritage of indigenous peoples; the constant threat to traditional knowledge; and the excessive desire for the extraction of resources for economic purposes. We invite you to observe them, listen to them and ask yourself what role these objects have in their communities.
